You can play but haven't had a band in years. You're a student who wants to know what a real bandstand feels like. You're a working musician ready to take it further. Whatever brought you here — this is the program. Zigzag Jazz Club, Berlin.
This is not one-on-one tuition. It's ensemble playing — you join a band of up to five musicians, and that's the format for the whole semester. Every session is with your group, working on real repertoire together, learning to function as a unit. The teaching happens in the band, not around it.
It's built first for people who can really play but have a job, a life, and haven't had a real band in years. Also for students who want to know what a proper bandstand feels like, and for working musicians ready to push further. Whatever the reason — the experience is the same: a real group, real sessions, and a real gig at the end.
Uri has been leading sessions at the Zigzag Jazz Club for 10 years. He builds each group himself from the applicants, pairing musicians at a similar level. Bands are kept to a maximum of five. All equipment is on site — piano, drums, bass amp, PA. Just bring yourself and your instrument.
